Kerala Public Works Department (PWD) is the prominent statutory authority responsible for managing and maintaining major road network, bridges, culverts, public buildings and other road transport infrastructure assets owned by the Government of Kerala. The Department is in the process of establishing a new modern web based Road asset Management System which is being done under the World Bank aided Kerala State Transport Project. In order to keep the stakeholder participation in the road asset improvement and maintenance activities, the road users complaints and inputs are very much required.
PWD4U Public Mobile app is part of the digital initiative by the Government of Kerala to enable citizens to notify the authorities of any defects or problems in the road assets managed by Kerala PWD. The purpose of the App is to improve the response time of PWD to road maintenance issues and provide the citizens with a road network that has good riding quality and is free of defects. The user can send locations and photos of the road defects to the concerned authority with a single tap on your device using the App. All complaints will be geotagged and automatically sent to the PWD for redressal, and the status updates until complaint resolution can be tracked. This app was officially released by the Hon. Minister for Public works & Tourism on 7-6-2021 and the app is available in Google Play Store for downloading and install.
